In my quest to organize my spaces and learn as much as possible about creating space for others, I have read many excellent books full of helpful hints and life-changing concepts. If you enjoy learning through the written word, here are some of my favorites I highly recommend:

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo
This is the original book by “KonMari”, a sensational author and speaker. I love her philosophy and have personally found her system works wonders.

Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
This is the 2nd book, which expands on the original with lots of illustrations.

The Life-Changing Manga of Tidying Up: A Magical Story by Marie Kondo
Manga is a Japanese-style graphic novel (i.e. comic book). The format is fun and breaks down concepts very quickly in a visual format. Great for kids and adults alike! I often loan my copy out to clients.

Zero Waste Home: The Ultimate Guide to Simplifying Your Life by Reducing Your Waste by Bea Johnson
So inspirational! I put many of the tips in this book into practice and reduced my family’s waste drastically within a few months. The author includes several recipes for DIY home cleaners, cosmetics, and how to shop in bulk to avoid packaging.

Discardia: More Life, Less Stuff by Dinah Sanders
Not just a clever title title, this is a whimsical approach to de-cluttering with a light heart.

Sacred Space: Clearing and Enhancing the Energy of Your Home by Denise Linn
This book inspired me to go toward organizing and creating space with a more soulful focus. If you wish to take a more spiritual approach, you will enjoy this amazing book.
